Hundreds gather for Merced County Spring Fair

Marching bands, veterans, folkloric dancers and fair royalty paraded through downtown Los Banos this weekend as one of the highlights of the annual Merced County Spring Fair.

Hundreds of people lined the city streets to enjoy the spectacle, which included appearances by Grand Marshals Fred and Linda Erickson, Miss May Day 2016 Alexandria Lopes and her court, and Sheriff Vern Warnke, who rode a horse adorned with silver accessories.

The five-day Spring Fair, which celebrated the theme “Let the Good Times Grow,” wraps up Sunday. The summer Merced County Fair in Merced is scheduled to run June 8-12.
