Vandals leave pro-Trump graffiti at Los Banos High School
Vandals scrawled messages promoting Donald Trump across walls and lockers at Los Banos High School, writing the presidential candidate’s name and slogans such as “Build a Wall” and “Make America Great Again.”
School staff members discovered the graffiti in the early hours Thursday, Los Banos police said in a Facebook post. The graffiti was written in chalk and paint across various parts of the campus.
“This is how it starts,” Joaquin Cortez, the parent of a student, told KFSN-ABC30. “This is nothing but negative, negative stuff promoted by Trump.”
Cortez said the “Build a Wall” messages were especially hurtful because the vandalism coincided with Cinco de Mayo.
“It’s going to insult and people are going to get offended by it,” he told the station.
Los Banos police did not return phone messages Friday seeking further information. Calls to Los Banos High and the office of the school district also were not returned.
Assistant Superintendent Paul Enos said a camera recorded a couple of masked people believed to be students committing the vandalism, KFSN-ABC30 reported.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the school resource officer, Anthony Parker, at 209-827-7070.
