Paving work to affect ramps, lanes on Highway 99 in Merced

Road work will affect access ramps to Highway 99 in Merced all week.

The California Department of Transportation says paving work will require it to close northbound and southbound access ramps between Childs Avenue and 16th Street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The nightly closures will be in effect through Friday.

Also this week, crews will close the right lanes of northbound and southbound 99 from Martin Luther King Jr. Way to Black Rascal Canal.

Caltrans says motorists should expect delays and it advises travelers to take alternate routes whenever possible.
