Memorial Day closings 2016

Here are the offices and services that will be closed or running on altered schedules for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Memorial Day is Monday. Originally, the day was called Decoration Day and honored Civil War soldiers on both sides who died. Today, Memorial Day is a federal holiday and honors those who have died serving in the U.S. military.

Unincorporated areas of Merced County are on normal schedule; incorporated areas are delayed by one day.

City of Merced – pickup delayed by one day after Monday

Allied Waste of Atwater – pickup delayed by one day after Monday

Allied Waste of Los Banos – pickup delayed by one day after Monday

Allied Waste of Dos Palos – pickup delayed by one day after Monday

Amtrak operating on Sunday schedule
