Crash west of Los Banos following car chase, hit-and-run

California Highway Patrol was tending to a car on fire on Highway 152 on Tuesday evening after crashing following a police pursuit, about 10 miles west of Los Banos.

CHP Los Banos officers received a report of a hit and run involving a pedestrian and the suspected vehicle at 7:44 p.m., authorities said.

After locating the vehicle, officers pursued the vehicle, which was reported to be driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle flipped, crashed and caught fire at 7:54 p.m., authorities said.

There was no immediate word on any injuries or any information regarding the reported hit and run collision.
