Police say Los Banos man robbed store, then came back for more
A Los Banos man has been arrested after he allegedly robbed the same convenience store twice in three days, police said.
According to a Los Banos Police statement, officers responded to reports of a robbery at a convenience store at 1:01 a.m. Friday. They were advised that a Hispanic male, wearing a mask, entered the store and robbed the clerk of cash. The suspect fled and wasn’t found.
At 1:53 a.m. on Sunday, police said, the same suspect came back to the store, wearing a mask, and robbed the clerk of cash again. No weapons were involved and no injuries were reported in either robbery.
Los Banos Cmdr. Ray Reyna said police positively identified the suspect, 23-year-old Alejandro Ochoa, through the use of store video surveillance.
Later that morning, at 9:18 a.m., Sgt. Jesus Parras was on patrol in the 2100 block of East Pacheco Boulevard when he saw Ochoa walking near an apartment complex.
Because Ochoa has a felony criminal record, Reyna said, Parras held him at gunpoint and waited for backup. Ochoa didn’t resist arrest.
Ochoa was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail on suspicion of two counts of robbery and violations of post-release supervision conditions. Bond was set at $200,000.
