Random stabbing in Los Banos leads to arrest
A 42-year-old man was wounded after he reported being stabbed by a stranger as he walked to his vehicle over the weekend, Los Banos police said.
Police responded to the 700 block of West Pacheco Boulevard at 12:16 p.m. Saturday and found the victim suffering from a minor stab wound, according to a statement.
The man told police he was approached by a woman who said something to him before stabbing him once in the torso, police said.
Officers found the suspect, 26-year-old Chelsea Webb, about a block away and placed her under arrest.
According to police, officers have had prior contact with the Los Banos woman, who appeared to suffer from mental health issues. She was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to a police statement. Bond was set at $30,000.
The victim was taken to Los Banos Memorial Hospital in stable condition and later released.
