Merced County crop report: Strawberry harvest at its peak
A report on crop conditions for Merced County for the week ending May 8 has been released by the Merced County Agricultural Commissioner’s office.
The oat harvest is ongoing, and the first cutting of alfalfa continues. Corn and cotton fields are being planted.
Strawberry harvest continues. Outdoor nursery stock field fumigations are winding down. Bell pepper, cantaloupe, honeydew, sweet potato and tomato planting continue. Asparagus harvest continues, and sweet potato field fumigations continue.
Supplemental livestock feeding continues. Rangeland conditions are good.
