A report on crop conditions for Merced County for the week ending July 3 has been released by the Merced County Agricultural Commissioner’s office.
About 60 percent of the winter wheat crop has been harvested and the oat and barley harvests continue.
Corn continues to be planted. The fourth cutting of alfalfa continues. Peach thinning and the apricot harvest continue while the strawberry harvest is winding down.
Bell pepper, cantaloupe, honeydew, market tomato and processing tomato planting continue. Sweet potato planting is complete and market tomato harvest continues.
Rangeland conditions are good.
