Coffee lovers in Merced soon will have one more place in town to grab a vast array of espresso drinks, classic brews, and pastries.

In June, city documents showed plans for a new Starbucks in North Merced.

This week, a Starbucks spokesperson has confirmed to the Sun-Star that the Seattle-based coffee chain will be opening another store at 1285 W. Yosemite Ave.

The store will be only 1.5 miles from the chain’s most recent location in Merced, inside the Raley’s at East Yosemite Avenue and G Street.

What’s on the menu at Starbucks

Starbucks is known for its signature coffee drinks, which include novelties such as sugar cookie lattes, sweet cream cold brews, and blended Frappucinos.

Those who prefer a more traditional coffee have the option of four different roasts of brewed coffee, including one decaffeinated option, and special seasonal blends. The chain also sells a variety of teas and refreshers.

Food items range from pastries and cake pops to breakfast sandwiches with eggs and bacon and protein-packed lunch boxes.

When will Starbucks open in Merced?

While the company did not provide an opening date, the store is set to open in the spring of 2026.

The spokesperson added, “In communities like Merced, our partners (employees) are what make Starbucks coffeehouses special.”

Starbucks opened a location at 5 E. 23rd St. in Merced in September.
