Making Amazon returns in Merced County just got easier with new store kiosks
Aimed at convenience, a Central Valley grocery store chain has partnered with Amazon to roll out a program allowing customers to make returns during their shopping trip.
The Save Mart Companies has added return kiosks to 155 stores in California and western Nevada, including four in Merced County, according to a list on the company website. The kiosks will be at all remaining Save Mart, Lucky and FoodMaxx stores by February, according to a news release.’
The current Merced County locations are:
- Save Mart at 150 W. Olive Ave., Merced
- Food Maxx at 1300 W. Olive Ave., Merced
- Save Mart at 1701 Bellevue Road, Atwater
- Save Mart at 1400 Mercey Springs Road, Los Banos
“The reality is, returning an item has become a routine part of the online shopping experience, especially after the busy holiday season,” said Tamara Pattison, chief digital officer of The Save Mart Companies, in a statement. “With this rollout completing just in time for the post-holiday return rush, our stores throughout California and Western Nevada are positioned to make returns as easy and convenient as possible for the millions of online shoppers we both serve.”
When starting a return with Amazon.com or the app, customers will be able to select Save Mart, Lucky or FoodMaxx as their drop-off location.
Shipping bags and labels are provided at the kiosks. To use the kiosk, customers scan a QR code, bag their items and place them inside.
The Save Mart Companies will offer a $5 discount on same-day purchases of $25 or more for customers who use the Amazon return kiosks, according to the release. This offer can be accessed by showing an Amazon return confirmation to a store associate or by scanning a QR code displayed on the kiosk screen.
