Five Guys is closing its Merced location. Here’s when, how many jobs will be cut
National burger chain Five Guys is permanently closing its Merced restaurant in June, cutting 13 jobs.
The restaurant, at 3572 G St., will close June 26, according to a notification filed Tuesday with California’s Employment Development Department.
The manager of the Five Guys in Merced, who asked not to be identified, confirmed the restaurant will be closing in late June.
Five Guys launched in the Washington, D.C., area in 1998. The chain is known for its hand-formed beef patties, its peanut oil fries accompanied by cups of shelled peanuts, and its thick, hand-spun milkshakes.
The Merced location opened in the Yosemite North Shopping Center in June 2016.
