‘Two O’Clock Rock’ burglar strikes more than 60 businesses, California police say
Police are seeking a man dubbed the “Two O’Clock Rock” burglar for his habit of using rocks for early-morning break-ins at Los Angeles-area businesses.
The burglar has struck more than 60 times in the San Fernando Valley this year, police said in a news release.
The man targets businesses from 2 to 4 a.m. and prepares by staging rocks in front of them, police said. He throws a rock through a glass front door and steals money or, in some cases, entire cash registers.
He’s been spotted riding a bicycle or driving an early 2000s four-door dark-colored Nissan Maxima or Sentra, police said.
A security video provided by police shows the man scan the street outside a store, then hurl a rock through the glass front door and enter.
Police ask that anyone with information on the crimes contact detectives J. Eastburn at 818-832-0936 or C. Parchman at 818-832-0941. Anonymous tips can be left at L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.lacrimestoppers.org.
