Right after her home’s power was shut off, a 19-year-old woman watched as a man tried to break in, police in California said.

The woman was inside her home around 10:44 p.m. when she saw a man attempting to open a window on Sunday, Dec. 19, Santa Rosa Police Department said in a news release.

After seeing the man, she called authorities and ran to her backyard, police said.

Authorities responded to the home and arrested a man standing in her front yard on an attempted burglary charge and a probation violation.

The breaker box had been opened and all the switches were turned off, police said. And multiple window screens had been removed.

The woman was not harmed. The investigation is ongoing.
