The family of murdered woman Alexis Gabe just doubled the reward for anyone who can help locate their daughter’s body.

On a website dedicated to finding Gabe’s remains, Paul Beard of Oakley Police Department in California announced the now $100,000 reward would be coming from officials and urges anyone who may be of help to sign up, according to the website.

$100,000 is yours if you find Alexis’ remains,” said her father, Gwyn Gabe, as reported by KTVU. After relying on hope for so long, he said he has come to terms with his daughter being gone.

The 24-year-old woman, of Oakley, California, first went missing in January, having last been seen at her ex-boyfriend’s house, McClatchy News reported at the time. Her car was later found abandoned with the keys left in the ignition.

Through their investigation, officials came to believe Gabe was killed by her boyfriend, Marshall Jones, around Jan. 26, according to a timeline of her death on the family’s website. When police went to his home to arrest him on murder charges on June 1, Jones was shot and killed by authorities after he lunged at them with a knife, McClatchy News previously reported.

Gabe’s father told ABC 7 his family did not want Jones to die.

“We didn’t want him dead,” her father said at a news conference after the shooting. “We wanted him arrested to pay for his sins. We wanted to meet with him face to face. We wanted to look him in the eye and ask him why, ask him, ‘Where is Alexis?’”

The Gabe family believes that by rewarding this large sum, which began as $10,000 before an anonymous donation raised the prior total to $60,000, will create an interest in the public to help find their daughter’s remains, according to the Facebook page.

Police say Jones wrote down directions to Pioneer, California, where they believe he may have disposed on Gabe’s body, KNTV reported. Her family has posted a PDF of those directions in the hope it will help in the search.

Comments on the Facebook page offered their condolences, with one commentator saying “Alexis’s light shines bright through all of you and her love for her family gives you strength.”

Another commenter said, “My heart has been with your family throughout this entire journey.”

On a Facebook page called, ‘Help Bring Alexis Gabe home’, Gwyn Gabe said, ”It’s not easy raising a child.”

“That’s why it is so hard to accept that all those years spent taking care of your child is taken away from you in just a blink of an eye. No parent should bury their child.”

Gabe had black hair and was about 5-feet-7-inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, according to the case information on her website.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Alexis Gabe, we urge you to contact the tip line at 925-625-7009 or email alexistips@ci.oakley.ca.us.
