Officers found an empty Chevrolet truck when they arrived at the crash site at Caulfield Lane and Park Lane shortly before 1 a..m on Saturday, Sept. 17, according to an alert from the Petaluma Police Department.

After speaking with witnesses who provided a description of the girl, police learned she fled, officials said.
