Here’s how to track your California mail ballot for the 2022 general election
California voters can track and receive notifications on their mail ballots during the 2022 midterm election.
In 2020, the California Secretary of States teamed up with BallotTrax for voters to track their ballots.
“As vote-by-mail continues to grow among California voters, I urge every county elections office to adopt the “Where’s My Ballot?” tool — our latest step in further modernizing elections in California. ‘Where’s My Ballot’ will also further strengthen voter confidence in the integrity of our democracy,” Secretary of State Alex Padilla stated in a press release.
To date, 21 states in the nation utilize BallotTrax to some capacity, with either some counties in the state participating or the entire state.
When California rolled out the ballot tracking program in 2020, only 25 counties were participating. Today any registered voter from all 58 counties in California can use it.
How do you sign up?
