Michelin reveals 2025 guide. See which 13 California restaurants made the list

Top chefs across California are being recognized for excellence as their restaurants earn Michelin Guide status.

This year, the prestigious dining guide added 13 new restaurants across the Golden State — including three Sacramento eateries.

However, the Michelin Guide has yet to announce which California restaurants will receive or retain Michelin stars, among the most prestigious honors in the culinary arts community. They are awarded to restaurants “offering outstanding cooking” and exquisite dining experiences, according to the guide.

“We take into account five universal criteria: the quality of the ingredients, the harmony of flavors, the mastery of techniques, the personality of the chef as expressed through their cuisine and, just as importantly, consistency both across the entire menu and over time,” the Michelin Guide said in a news release.

The 2025 edition of the Michelin Guide California will be officially unveiled in downtown Sacramento on Wednesday, June 25.
