Man killed in Merced County crash

One man died Sunday when his vehicle overturned on a highway off ramp, north of Livingston in Merced County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The man, whose name was not released, was described by the CHP as an adult who was traveling alone in his vehicle.

The CHP reported the crash around 7:20 a.m. at the Collier Road off ramp, just off Highway 99, between Delhi and Livingston.

The driver was heading south on Highway 99 when he took the Collier Road exit. His vehicle, a Ford F-350, turned off the roadway, struck a stop sign and overturned, the CHP said in a news release.

Officers said the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation Sunday afternoon, the CHP said.
