Willie Nelson to perform in SLO County this summer. How to snag concert tickets
A new name has been added to the California Mid-State Fair headliners — but the singer is a familiar face.
Willie Nelson & Family is set to perform at the Chumash Grandstand Arena on July 22 as part of the Michelob Ultra Concert Series.
While an award-winning musician with a seven-decade career, Nelson has also become an acclaimed author, actor and activist, according to the California Mid-State Fair’s website. A central figure in the outlaw country genre, Nelson has released multiple studio albums like “First Rose of Spring,” “That’s Life,” “The Willie Nelson Family” and “A Beautiful Time,” the latter of which earned the Grammy Award for Best Country Album.
Nelson is continuing his annual Outlaw Music Festival this summer and stays a “driving force” behind his organization Farm Aid which supports American family farmers, according to the website.
The musician’s accomplishments extend to the music industry — he is an author of bestselling books “Willie Nelson’s Letters to America” and “Me and Paul: Untold Tale of a Fabled Friendship” and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
Tickets for Nelson’s show will go on sale May 22 at 10 a.m. at MidStateFair.com, with prices set at $50, $60, $80, and $100. The price of tickets does not include fair admission.
