Rider dies when thrown from ATV during crash in Kings County, CHP says

One person was killed in an ATV solo crash in Kings County, the CHP reports.

A man was killed in an ATV crash Tuesday night in Kings County, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 10:34 p.m. near the intersection of Fifth and Nevada avenues outside of Corcoran.

According to the CHP, the man was riding the off-highway all-terrain vehicle west on the north shoulder of Nevada Avenue approaching Fifth Avenue at an undetermined speed.

The driver lost control of the ATV, overturning, and was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity, age and city of residence of the driver were not released as of Wednesday.

It has not been determined if alcohol or drug use contributed to the crash, the CHP said. The collision remains under investigation.
