Entertainment will be dominated by the Stanislaus County Fair for the coming week. Major artists such as Clint Black and Ashanti will perform, along with an abundance of county fair fun. Beyond the fair, July 11-17 will bring shows at Prospect Theater Project and the Gallo Center for the Arts, as well as a new exhibit for the Carnegie Arts Center.

At the fair

The annual county expo is under way in Turlock, with live entertainment, arena events, carnival rides, food, livestock, a variety of exhibits and much more. The Stanislaus County Fair has a 10-day slate of events for all ages. Below is a rundown on some of this week’s entertainment.

Concerts at The Modelo Free Stage, free with fair admission, begin at 8:30 p.m.: July 10: Clint Black; July 11: Common Kings; July 12: Mi Banda El Mexicano De German Roman; July 13: Diamond Rio; July 14: Twist on Taylor; July 15: 3OH!3; July 16: Ashanti; July 17: Mayday Parade.

Events at the FoodMaxx Arena begin at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted, and have ticket prices in addition to fair admission (prices are for online purchases, which include extra fees; all box seats are $56.50): July 10: Truck & Tractor Pulls 1, 5:30 p.m., $13.56 general, $16.95 reserved; July 11: Truck & Tractor Pulls 2, 5:30 p.m. $13.56 general, $16.95 reserved; July 12: TPA Portuguese Bloodless Bullfights, $28.25; July 13: Destruction Derby 1: Summer Smash, $20.34 general, $22.60 reserved; July 14: Destruction Derby 2: Mayhem & Motorhomes, $20.34 general, $22.60 reserved; July 15: Monster Madness 1: Arena Thunder, $20.34 general, $22.60 reserved; July 16: Monster Trucks 2: Steel Stampede, $20.34 general, $22.60 reserved; July 17: PRCA Rodeo, $13.56 general, $16.95 reserved.

Prospect Theater Project

“Our Miss Brooks & My Friend Irma” marks the next one-night-only Radio Cavalcade production from Modesto’s Prospect Theater Project. The comedy special features episodes from each show. “Our Miss Brooks” is about an English teacher in a low paying job, with a variety of other issues. “My Friend Irma” follows the story of a quirky woman and her level-headed roommate who have man trouble. Radio Cavalcades are staged readings of classic radio plays, with live music and sound effects.

“What a Drag!”

Season four of the “What a Drag!” fundraiser will play at Modesto’s Gallo Center for the Arts. In the shows, community leaders who have never done drag partner with local drag experts to learn. They then perform a PG-13 production to raise money for four local nonprofit organizations. This year’s benefactors are the Modesto Artists Movement, Free Mom Hugs, Weird Moms 209 and Kappa Epsilon.

Carnegie “Showcase”

The annual Carnegie Art Showcase returns to the Ferrari Gallery at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock. Jurors selected 64 pieces in a variety of media to display. Artists from across the Modesto region and other areas in California submitted their works. A free public opening celebration will be held Friday, July 10, 6-8 p.m.

WHEN: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, through Aug. 29
