These companies are offering freebies to healthcare workers on coronavirus frontline

Healthcare workers are on the front lines of the global coronavirus pandemic and several companies are showing their appreciation by offering freebies to medical personnel.

From free coffee to free shoes, here’s how companies are stepping in to help:

Starbucks

The ubiquitous coffee chain is giving away tall brewed coffees to customers who identify as front line responders to the coronavirus pandemic through May 3, the company said in a news release.

The free coffees can be hot or iced.

Krispy Kreme

Starting March 30, Krispy Kreme is offering free dozens of glazed doughnuts to healthcare workers, the company said in a news release. To redeem, medical personnel will need to go through the drive-thru and show their employer badge.

Free doughnuts can only be redeemed on Mondays through May 11, according to the release.

Crocs

On Wednesday, the shoe company announced its Free Pair for Healthcare campaign which offers healthcare workers across the United States a free pair of Crocs along with free shipping, according to a news release.

Healthcare workers can choose from Crocs Classic Clogs and Crocs At Work styles while supplies last, the company said.

Crocs has implemented a daily limit on how many free pairs it gives away and medical personnel are encouraged to “check back at 12 p.m. ET every day to get in line for [their] free pair,” according to the website.

Sweetgreen

The fast casual salad restaurant is delivering free salads and bowls to hospitals in the Washington D.C. area, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston, the company said on its website.

Hertz

For healthcare workers in New York City, Hertz is offering free month-long car rentals through April 30, the company announced on its website.

Cars can be booked for as short as a week and up to a month, Hertz said. To redeem, customers will need a valid medical ID, email address with healthcare domain and driver’s license.
