Driver falls asleep and hits parked car in Atwater, police say. Causes injuries
A passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries in a car crash on Monday afternoon in Atwater when the driver fell asleep at the wheel, the Atwater Police Department reported.
At about 3:39 p.m., 34-year-old Juana Andrade of Atwater, was driving a red vehicle on the 2100 block of First Street in Atwater, said Sgt. William Novetzke. She was asleep and hit a parked car, he said, that caused her car to spin around.
The passenger in the car, a 39-year-old man from Atwater was pinned in and has injuries to his legs, Novetzke said. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center.
