A small crowd of students gathered in a Merced College amphitheater on Monday, the unofficial marijuana holiday, for an event called Legalize Liberty. Put on by the Students for Liberty, a college club, the event used music to try to bring out students for the philosophical debate that culminated the event. A flag marked with marijuana leaves flew over the stage throughout the day as a more than a dozen people stood nearby, according to one organizer.
