Merced Arts Wrap for Thursday

Merced youth talent show

Save Our Youth Merced Talent Showcase, a language and performing arts event, is planned for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in the theater at El Capitan High School, 100 Farmland Ave. The show will feature storytelling, song, dance, rap and spoken word. Senior social dance

The May Social Dance will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th Street. Admission is $8 per person and includes a tango lesson, which will be taught at 1:15 p.m. The open dance floor is from 2 to 5 p.m. with live music provided by Just Friends. Gospel concert series continues

Julie Eichelberger presents the next installment of her Julie-N-Friends gospel concert series at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave. in Merced. The talent lineup includes Bridge of Grace of Merced, Reliance of Fresno, the California Melody Boys of Tulare, and special guests Brandon & Chrysta Beene of Dallas. Christian singer

St. Patrick’s Faith Event Ministry presents Matt Maher, a five-time Grammy-nominated artist, in concert at the Art Kamangar Center at the Merced Theatre on June 18. Tickets are $15 to $29. Merced Camera Club

South Pacific dance lessons

The South Pacific Dance Company is teaching traditional dance and music from the cultures of Hawaii and Tahiti. The school enrolls ages 4 and older, beginners to advanced. Merced County Fair concerts

Tierra will bring its Latin rhythm and blues sound to the 2015 Merced County Fair when it headlines June 14 in the fairground’s Outdoor Theatre. Performing in the fairground’s Outdoor Theatre are: 7eventh Time Down on June 10; Tower of Power on June 11; John Lee Hooker Jr. on June 12; and Aaron Tippin on June 13. Start time for all is 8:30 p.m. All concerts are free with admission, which is $5 for anyone 6 or older.
