82-year-old woman who went missing found in good health, Merced police say

Tuesday Update:

Authorities canceled a silver alert for a missing woman Tuesday, after she was found at a residence in the city, according to a Merced Police Department Facebook post.

Police said officers responded to a report of woman sleeping on a front porch of a residence in the 1000 block of East Main Street. Officers located Thongphath Chanmynarath on the porch and she was returned to her residence, according to police.

Authorities said the woman was in good health.

The Merced Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating an 82-year-old woman who has gone missing.

According to police, authorities are looking for Thongphath Chanmynarath, who went missing from 1828 W. 8th Street. According to a Sunday Facebook post by the Merced Police Department, she was last seen at her residence at about 8 p.m. the previous night. Police have not posted any updates at this time.

Police said they did not have a description of the woman’s clothing and that she is believed to be on foot. According to police, she has been known to walk away from her residence and visit friends.
