Merced County Coroner requests public’s help locating relatives of deceased woman
Merced County authorities are requesting the public’s help in locating relatives of deceased Joan Holly Smith, 63, according a Sheriff’s Office Facebook post Thursday.
The Sheriff’s Office said staff at the Coroner’s Office have searched numerous personal records but attempts to find her relatives have been unsuccessful.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, locating immediate family members is necessary for the Coroner’s Office to release the body and allow Smith to have a proper burial.
The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about Smith to contact the Coroner’s Office at (209) 385-7369.
