Atwater police say new service makes traffic accident reports available online
Atwater police have made it easier for residents to access copies of traffic accident reports, according to a department news release.
The Atwater Police Department has teamed up with Carfax to provide an e-commerce portal which will allow users to obtain city of Atwater traffic accident reports, the police department announced on Friday.
To access the reports, users will need an internet connection, the date of the incident, their name and a case number, police said.
Users can go online to the city’s website, select the police department tab and click on the Request Traffic Accident Report Online tab, according to the release.
From there, users can then fill out the form as well as choose a form payment. According to police, the report costs $20 and all transactions are secure. Once the request is completed, the user will receive access to the report for printing.
The Atwater Police Department said it hopes the service will assist those involved in traffic accidents complete claims faster and more efficiently, as well as relieving any stress that comes with being involved in a traffic collision.
