Man arrested for strong-arm robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, police say
Merced police arrested a man on suspicion of strong-arm robbery and assault with a deadly weapon on Friday night.
Officers responded to a report of an assault victim on the 1700 block of West Highway 140 at 8:33 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a white adult male with facial injuries. The victim told officers he had been assaulted and robbed on the 1300 block of West 13th Street by a man he knew as “Henry.”
As police checked the location, officers located Henry Campos, who matched the description given by the victim. Campos, 36, had blood on his clothing, according to police.
Campos admitted to being involved in a fight but denied taking part in a robbery. The victim identified Campos before being transported to a hospital for treatment, police said.
The victim’s property was found near Campos, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of strong arm robbery and assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Merced County Jail.
