In the last year, the Sun-Star and its sister newsroom — The Fresno Bee — have made efforts to fund local journalism through philanthropy.
We’ve used this funding to tell stories that weren’t being told. This is not breaking news coverage; it’s deep reporting that adds detail and context. We’ve translated many of these stories for Spanish speakers, expanding reach into underserved communities.
