Merced officials say new Chili’s Bar & Grill in the works amid other businesses, projects
Another popular restaurant chain is adding a location in Merced.
The City of Merced posted on its Facebook page that it “is processing an application for a Chili’s Bar & Grill as part of the Sears/Seritage Renovation project, on Thursday afternoon.
This would be the second Merced County location for Chili’s Bar & Grill. There is one located in Los Banos at 1905 East Pacheco Blvd.
It’s the second national chain restaurant this week to announced plans to come to Merced. Earlier this week, the City of Merced said that negotiations are underway to bring an Olive Garden restaurant to the old Hometown Buffet location on West Olive Avenue next to the Merced Mall.
Plus, there’s the new Yosemite Crossings development on the north side of town, which will bring a slew of new businesses.
The first phase of the project is already under construction. Included in the first phase will be: Crumbl Cookies, Starbucks, Panda Express, 7-Eleven and The Habit Burger Grill.
In all, the 21.5-acre Yosemite Crossings will also include two medical and dental office buildings, a hotel, multi-family residential housing and other retail space.
Construction has also started for a new AM PM convenience store and gas station on the corner of Highway 59 and Santa Fe Drive in Merced.
