Motorcyclist, 36, suffers major injuries and is flown to a hospital after Merced crash

A 36-year old man suffered major injuries and was flown to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle late Friday morning in Merced, according to police.

Merced officers responded to the collision at 11:12 a.m., according to Lt. Emily Foster.

The motorcyclist was driving south in the 300 block of R Street when it crashed into a black Cadillac sedan that was making a northbound turn onto R from West Third Street.

The motorcyclist suffered major trauma, was flown to a Modesto-area hospital and is in critical condition, according to Foster.

The driver of the Cadillac was uninjured.

Neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor, according to police.
