Pedestrian killed, struck by multiple vehicles on Highway 99 near Delhi, CHP says
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by multiple vehicles on Highway 99 near Delhi in Merced County.
The case is being investigated as a possible hit-and-run crash.
Officers responded around 10 p.m. Friday, after the pedestrian was struck just north of West Bradbury Road, according to CHP Officer Eric Zuniga. Authorities said it is unknown at this time if the male victim is an adult or a juvenile.
According to Zuniga, the incident is being investigated as a fatal hit-and-run collision. The CHP said after the initial collision, multiple vehicles then struck the pedestrian, who was lying in the roadway. Several motorists reported striking the victim in the roadway and have been cooperative with authorities.
Zuniga said authorities are still trying to find the initial vehicle that struck the pedestrian.
