Merced pandemic essential workers can apply for $500 stimulus payment. Here’s how
Merced residents who worked as essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible for a $500 stimulus payment, the city announced Wednesday.
The one-time payments were made possible by federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars awarded to the city.
Last year, the Merced City Council sliced up the $27.4 million to go toward local priorities, including the stimulus program and other initiatives like affordable housing development, parks, improvement projects downtown and job training.
The $500 stimulus payments will be available to Merced households that meet certain criteria.
Eligible stimulus applicants must reside in the City of Merced and have worked as an essential, front line, hospitality, logistics, food service or construction worker during the pandemic. Monthly financial guidelines depending on household size also apply.
Additional information about the program and enrollment can be found at www.engage.cityofmerced.org. Program guidelines and registration forms are available at this site as well.
