Fire crews battle blaze that destroys RV, multiple vehicles in Merced
A fire destroyed an RV and multiple vehicles in Merced on Wednesday night, according to Cal Fire Battalion Chief Bobby Ayuso.
Fire crews responded to a call of an RV fire at 6:43 p.m. at a residence in the 1800 block of Stretch Road in Merced.
“Upon arrival, we had several vehicles, an RV and a couple (of) out buildings and several other debris piles that were fully involved,” Ayuso said. “There was also about a quarter acre of vegetation.”
It took firefighters approximately two hours to get the fire contained.
There were no injuries and no damage to any homes in the area.
The RV, multiple vehicles and two out buildings were destroyed, according to Ayuso.
There were four Merced County fire engines, two water tenders and a Merced City Fire engine on the scene to battle the fire.
Ayuso said the cause of the fire was not immediatey known.
“With that much debris and that many items burned, we haven’t had an opportunity to investigate anything yet,” Ayuso said.
