Fatal solo motorcycle crash reported on Bear Creek Drive in Merced, police say
A 34-year-old man suffered fatal injuries and a 27-year-old man was hospitalized in a crash Saturday, after a motorcyclist crashed into a parked car on East South Bear Creek Drive.
Merced police said in a news release alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Officers responded to East South Bear Creek Drive near Glen Avenue at 6:38 p.m. and rendered aid to the men, who had been on the same motorcycle. Police have not released their names.
The 34-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where he died. Police said he was not wearing a motorcycle helmet. The 27-year-old remains in serious but stable condition at a local trauma center.
