Merced County plans to build a new park in the Franklin-Beachwood area near Stefani Elementary School.

An update on the park will provided to the community during the Franklin-Beachwood Municipal Advisory Council meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Stefani Elementary School Cafeteria, which is located at 2678 Ranchero Lane in Merced.

Representatives from the Merced County Parks and Recreation Division, Merced County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and Merced County Human Services Agency’s Housing & Homeless Services will be present at the meeting to discuss aspects of the new park and to answer questions.

Merced County purchased an 18-acre site to build the new park.

Through a series of online surveys and 10 community meetings, residents requested that a community center, picnic shelters, soccer field, baseball field, basketball court, playground and walking path be prioritized for the future park.
