GoFundme account set up for family of Atwater sisters who were struck, killed by vehicle

A friend of the two Atwater sisters who were struck and killed by a vehicle while on their morning walk earlier this week has set up a GoFundMe account to help the family with funeral expenses.

Carolyn Rose, 76, and Billie Edwards, 73, both of Atwater, were out for their daily morning walk together on Wednesday when they were struck and killed by a woman driving a minivan near the intersection of East Juniper Avenue and Augusta Lane in Atwater.

The GoFundMe page was set up by Sandi Holder-Grayson, who described herself as a longtime friend of Rose and Edwards.

The GoFundMe account page says, “The family is shattered by the loss of Billie & Carol, who were tragically killed while enjoying something they love to do - taking their morning walk.”

Over $8,000 dollars had been donated as of Saturday morning toward a goal of $20,000, according to the GoFundMe page.
