Winton man whose vehicle overturned on its roof during fatal Merced County crash is identified

The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office identified the Winton man killed in a vehicle collision after his vehicle was T-boned Thursday morning.

Deputy Alexandra Britton said Eric De Jesus Galvanmolina, 31, was driving a 1999 Honda Accord south on Oakdale Road at about 50-60 mph when the driver’s side of the vehicle was struck by the front of a 2013 Acura traveling westbound on Turlock Road.

The CHP said the collision caused the Honda to overturn onto its roof and Galvanmolina was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to authorities, it is unknown if the driver of the Acura, a 46-year-old Ballico woman, stopped at a posted stop sign prior to the collision.

According to authorities, the collision remains under investigation.
