“It’s right up there,” Merced mayor Mattew Serratto said. “If it’s not No. 1, it’s 1A behind Trader Joe’s. From what I hear, people want Chick-fil-A and Trader Joe’s in Merced. That’s what I hear the most.”

Serratto said the Chick-fil-A will be located in the area of 15th Street and Martin Luther King Way near Highway 99.

The new restaurant will be surrounded by other popular fast food options like In-and-Out Burger, Wendy’s, Taco Bell and Popeyes.

Serratto says he’s unsure of a timeline for the restaurant.
