Los Banos police investigate shooting death of 20-year-old man

Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting homicide of 20-year-old man in Los Banos over the weekend.

According to the Los Banos Police Department, officers responded to the 400 block of Ranchwood Drive just after 12 a.m. Saturday, after receiving multiple shorts fired reports. When they arrived on scene, the officers located 20-year-old Andrew Thompson of Los Banos, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said emergency personnel rendered aid to Thompson, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said officers arriving to the scene observed multiple people running from the residence where a house party was held. Detectives reviewed evidence at the scene and spoke with witnesses. The shooting does not appear to be gang-motivated, according to police.
