Merced County voters recall council members, reject public safety tax in official election results
CORRECTION: The Measure R public safety tax measure needed two-thirds approval to pass. Incorrect information was included with the initial version of this story. The errors have been corrected.
The Merced County registrar of voters officially certified the Nov. 5 election results shorty after 12 p.m. Tuesday. The certified results will be sent to the California Secretary of State officially ending the vote counting process. Voting results indicate Merced County voters rejected the Measure R public safety tax, while in Los Banos voters approved the recall of two city council members.
Here are the final voting results for county races including the race for Merced Mayor, Merced City Council, Los Banos Mayor, Los Banos City Council, Merced Union High School District Board, Merced City Elementary School District and more.

Anthony Levi Martinez: 9,001 votes, 35.91%
