Suspicious RV fire leads to death in Merced County, authorities say. RV was fully engulfed

Authorities on Saturday are investigating a suspicious fire that led to a death in Le Grand.

Deputies with the Merced County Sheriff’s Office responded to an RV fire in the 3800 block of Washington.

Fire crews arrived and found a fully engulfed RV. After the fire was put out, a person was found dead inside, authorities said.

The identity of the victim is unknown, but detectives and arson investigators will follow-up on the incident.
