Pedestrian in his 30s killed after being struck by train in Merced County, deputies say
A pedestrian was killed Thursday morning after a train struck him in Merced County.
The collision happened just after 10 a.m. near Highway 99 and Vista Road in Le Grand.
The incident is under investigation and deputies said the collision appears to be accidental.
Captain Aaron Rosenberg said the pedestrian in his 30s was pushing a bike along the tracks and was likely wearing headphones at the time of the collision.
