What will Merced weather be on Easter? See the holiday weekend forecast

Celebrating Easter in the Merced area?

You can expect warm, dry weather for Easter egg hunts, bunny meet-and-greets and other springtime festivities.

“Temperatures will return to normal across the area” on Friday before rising to above-normal levels over the weekend and into early next week, the weather agency said in an X post.

Merced has a 20% chance of a high temperature exceeding 85 degrees on Easter Sunday, according to the agency.

Although temperatures will be “a little above normal, we’re not expecting any excessive heat,” said David Spector, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford.

What’s in the forecast for Merced?

On Friday, the Merced area was expected to be sunny with a high temperature near 75 and winds around 5 mph, according to the weather service’s latest seven-day forecast.

The weather service predicted Friday night would be mostly clear, with a low around 46 and wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

On Saturday, sunny skies and high temperatures are forecast with a high near 81.

Saturday is expected to have an overnight low of 49.

Starting Saturday, “We’re going to be in for an extended period of dry weather,” Spector said.

What will the weather be on Easter Sunday?

Easter Sunday will be sunny with a high near 83 and winds around 5 mph, the weather service said.

Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low around 51.

“It’s going to be clear skies” with “no precipitation, light winds and lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s and highs in the mid 80s,” Spector said.

What’s next for Merced weather?

Merced will have clear skies for the next few days, according to the weather service.

Monday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 84 and wind gusts as high as 15 mph, according to the weather service. The low on Monday night will be around 51.

On Tuesday, the forecast calls for a high near 85 and an overnight low of 50.

The high on Wednesday will near 79, the weather service said, while the low will be around 47.

Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 75.

This kind of warm, dry weather is “not unusual” during the springtime in Fresno, Spector said.

“We get periods where we get dry for a while,” he explained. “By mid-May, we hardly get any precipitation at all until mid-October. We have a five-month period where we usually get nothing at all.”
