A popular fast food chain known for its burgers and seasoned French fries just opened its first Merced location.

Rally’s recently celebrated the grand opening of its new restaurant off Highway 59.

“We’re excited to introduce (the Checkers & Rally’s brand) to Merced, and we believe our unique blend of bold flavors and high-quality ingredients will resonate with the community,” Robert Bhagwandat, senior director of franchise development at Checkers Drive-in Restaurants, said in a news release.

Bhagwandat said the new Rally’s restaurant is “strategically located ... right off the highway,” making it a “perfect pit stop for those craving bold flavors on the go.”

“With our efficient double drive-thru, we’re making it easier than ever for the local community to savor the distinctive taste of (Rally’s) without missing a beat in their busy schedules,” he said.

Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. describes itself as “an iconic and innovative drive-thru restaurant chain known for its bold, craveable food, famous fries, exceptional value and people-first attitude.”

The Florida-based company operates about 800 Checker’s and Rally’s locations across the United States, including 30-plus restaurants in California.

The restaurant occupies a total of 10,008 square feet, and will employ approximately 50 people, according to Checkers and Rally’s.

What’s on the menu at Rally’s?

Popular entrees on the Rally’s menu include cheeseburgers, hot dogs, crispy chicken tenders and chicken wings.

Side dishes include Rally’s “famous seasoned fries,” loaded fries and mozzarella sticks.

The fast food restaurant also serves up a variety of drinks, including slushies, milkshakes and soft drinks.

For those who have a sweet tooth, Rally’s offers apple pie turnovers, cheesecake sundaes, funnel cake fries and soft-serve ice cream cones.

What are food prices at burger joint?

Food prices at Rally’s range from $2.69 for a hot dog to $13.49 for a 10-piece order of classic wings, according to the Rally’s website.

Combo meals, which come with fries and a drink, cost $12.19 to $13.29, depending on the size.

Drinks range in price from $3.09 to $5.49, while desserts cost $1.19 to $3.29.
