Walking America Couple make their way to Merced County. What they said
The “Walking America Couple” preaching positive thinking have made their way into Merced County.
Torin and Paige Rouse, who have grown a sizable following on social media, were in Livingston on Friday, according to a video posted on their Facebook page.
In the video, the Missouri couple note some people riding horses along a road in Livingston. “I never see horses in city limits,” Torin Rouse said. “It’s so cool.”
The couple posted “We made it to Atwater!” at around 5 p.m. About an hour later, the couple posted that they would spend the night in Merced on Saturday, and were looking for a place to stay.
Why are the Rouses walking in all 50 states?
On their website, they say: “We are walking 12,000 miles across all 50 states, setting the example that with the right perspective, you can find contentment in nearly any circumstance and make friends with almost anybody. We lack happiness in this world. But if you want to change the world, you have to change yourself.”
The couple are funding their journey through donations. The Rouses also have been spending nights at volunteers’ homes.
They began their journey in May 2022 and are a little more than halfway to their goal.
The Rouses posted a photo from Ceres on Wednesday.
