Motorcyclist killed in crash west of Los Banos, CHP reports

A motorcycle rider was killed west of Los Banos on Sunday when their 2023 Harley-Davidson collided with an SUV, California Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred on westbound Highway 152, west of Lower Cottonwood Road, at around 1:30 p.m., CHP said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcycle was traveling in the No. 2 lane. A silver 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling ahead of the motorcycle, also in the No. 2 lane.
For an unknown reason, the left side of the black Harley-Davidson motorcycle and the right side of the Volkswagen Tiguan collided, CHP said.
After the collision, the motorcycle crashed into a guardrail in the center median. The rider was ejected.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His identity is pending notification of family.
The driver of the silver Volkswagen Tiguan did not sustain any injuries and alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash, CHP said.
