Merced’s downtown named one of 10 new cultural districts in California
The Downtown Merced Cultural District has been awarded $10,000 for its selection as one of California’s 10 new state-designated cultural districts, the city of Merced said in a news release.
The district will also receive official state certification, technical assistance and access to joint marketing and branding resources.
The designation period will run from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2030, the news release said.
The Downtown Merced Cultural District celebrates the city’s arts and cultural community. The Merced County Arts Council is the lead organization for the district.
